Kimberly Monty Holzel, partner in Goodwin’s Financial Industry, Consumer Financial Services, and Fintech practices, advises banks and fintech clients offering tech-enabled consumer financial services on compliance with consumer financial services laws. Kimberly works with payment services, blockchain, and virtual currency companies on FinCEN’s money service business regulations and anti-money laundering requirements.
She also prepares banks, lenders, and fintech companies for supervision by financial services regulators and represents them in connection with state and federal regulatory investigations, examinations, and inquiries. Kimberly's prior experience includes four years at the CFPB, where she led examination teams ensuring compliance with mortgage, fair lending, and consumer banking matters.
Ethan is an experienced financial services advisor who specializes in helping financial institutions and fintechs navigate the complexities of banking-as-a-service programs. At FS Vector, Ethan leverages his expertise to coordinate the launch of bank-fintech partnership programs, working closely with state and federally chartered banks, fintechs, technology providers and other ecosystem partners. He brings deep expertise in designing and implementing comprehensive compliance programs for fintech startups, neobanks, digital asset platforms, and other innovative financial services companies.
Prior to joining FS Vector, Ethan was a Manager in the Compliance & Regulatory Advisory practice at BDO USA, where he led AML/OFAC assessments and consultations on unique compliance issues related to fintech partnerships. He has driven innovative compliance efforts in client adoption of AI, RPA, and machine learning to enhance processes and mitigate risks. Earlier in his career, Ethan served as an Assistant Vice President at HSBC, where he directed financial crime investigations and collaborated with regulators on AI governance.
Ethan received a B.A. in Political Science and an M.B.A from the University of Delaware, and a J. D., cum laude, from the Delaware Law School of Widener University.
